Tony Butler started his masonry career on the restoration of 17th century inner city Birmingham, England.
He completed a contract with the Princes Trust before packing his tools for Canada.
Arriving in 1984, he started work in new construction of brick and stone which lasted for ten years before going back to restoration. Tony is certified in Bricklaying and Stone Masonry. He also hold certificates in Dry Stone Walling and Restoration Mortars.
Tony became Operations Manager for one of Canada's top Restoration firms. While working there he perceived the need for a medium sized firm that could complete a job from plinth to slate roof.
Abbey Masonry and Restoration was started in 2004. Abbey completes every aspect of the work from budget pricing, permits, to execution of the work with a dedicated team. This can take longer than storming a job with every trade needed. The plus side is the attention to detail is not lost. The art of restoration is to bring a building back to its former glory using the same or similar materials as the original trades would have used and worked them. Abbey has completed numerous jobs for home owners, business, and institutes. Abbey backs all of their work with a three year warranty.
